The 12th Day of Christmas – nothing to whine about!
Posted by: | CommentsThere is now less then two weeks till Christmas (um, sorry about reminding you of that) and thoughts of wine are frequenting out mind-space.
Good thing we have the Real Mums Wine Club – they send boxes of wine, for free, to your door! So you can have some to get you through the next 13 days, and beyond.
Also great for gifts for those whom you can’t think of what to get, for yourself, for giving to the host of gatherings you’re invited to, for yourself, and for adding to raffle hampers and those sorts of things.
Wine really does make a lovely Christmas present for anyone – except those that don’t like wine, in which case, buy them something you like and hint that they can bring it with them next time they pop around to your place.
(Or you could just get them something else we’ve suggested over the last 12 days
)
The Real Mums Wine Club does offer a fabulous selection of wines, most of which we’ve tried and tested ourselves. For research purposes only, obviously! If you aren’t a member already, it is free to join and you’re under no obligation to buy.
But why wouldn’t you? The wines are up to 70% off the RRP, they’re delivered to your door really quickly and for no extra cost.
And if you join, you go in the draw to win a bottle of Penfold’s Grange
The 10th Day of Christmas – the Mother of all Christmas Presents
Posted by: | CommentsIt’s 15 days till Christmas Day (eeeek!) which is a really scary thought.
Because tomorrow, it will be two weeks.
That, however, is not the point – I just realised the date and how close it was.
If you are in desperate need of a really, awesomely fabulous Chrimstmas present that will last you a whole year (and beyond), has a postitive impact on your emotional and mental wellbeing, gives you some time out and a big laugh, then I’d definitely be sending this link on to anyone and everyone and saying “Buy this for me, damn you!”
T’is a Bad Mother’s Club Membership! which gives you months and months of Mental Health Moments, including dinner out and some other really fun, Mum only events and outings, chat to other Mums in a safe and secure environment, and helps to make you a less stressed, grumpy and yelly Mummy.
Surely that’s gotta be good for the whole family. Actually, not “surely” – it definitely is!
Bad Mother’s Club Memberships start at $57 and are as simply to get as visiting www.badmothersclub.com.au
The 9th Day of Christmas – the Need to Read
Posted by: | CommentsSeek Books have been an amazing support for us, particularly in relation to the Real Mums Book Club.
(hehe they probably aren’t even aware of it … just they’ve had all the books we’ve chosen, been a source of present buying throughout the year and, well, I just love books – another site that I can get lost on for hours)
Again, it’s another source for your Christmas Shopping where you have pretty much everyone covered … Mum, Dad, Grandparents, Kids, Aunts, Uncles, Teachers, Friends and, of course, you!
They boast stocking over 1.5 million book titles, and I’d believe it. Their service is pretty good, too, and haven’t yet come across a book they don’t have. Maybe I’m not looking hard enough?
Anyhoo, great source of gift ideas for anyone really.
The 8th Day of Christmas – for the Senimental Mum
Posted by: | CommentsI was introduced to this business when I was in the midst of organising the launch for Bad Mother’s Club.
They have the prefect range for the sentimental Mum, with really, really nice personalised gifts. And very good quality, very nice gold and silvers and gems …
They’re probably also pretty good for grannies as well. And those nice Aunties who do really nice stuff for their nephews and nieces. And anyone else, really.
(Actually, they’re probably also be really nice keepsakes for loved ones moved on and all the rest of it as well).
Anyhoo – Eve & Ruby – Jewellery celebrating your life, your love …. your way.
Remember to pass this link on (I have! – and left numerous hints around the place!)

The 7th Day of Christmas – MUG
Posted by: | CommentsThis would have to be the most perfect Christmas Gift for any Mum.
A Real Mums Escape MUG – perfect for your morning coffee (at 380ml a pop, there’s less time making it and more time drinkin’ it!)
Available from Real Mums Retail Therapy – or you can grab the MUG and a Spare and save your self some $. And angst when one MUG is in the dishwasher.
The 6th Day of Christmas – Sweet – everyone covered!
Posted by: | CommentsIt’s a rainbow of Christmas presents … for literally averyone.
Rainbow Designs is one of my fave places for Chrimstas presents – especially for the “I don’t know what to get” people and corporate/business stuff if you’re in need of those sorts of presents. Way more fun than a hamper!
Cute little (or BIG) noodle boxes filled with loads of really nice lollies (she definitely uses the good stuff!) and choccies and you can add other things as well. I’d like to suggest they’re good for when you’re stuck for what to buy someone, but that would diminish what Rainbow Designs does – so they’re good for when you absolutely know what to get someone, too. They do, of course, have a Christmas Range, but just about anything on their site is suitable as a Chrimstmas gift.
That is, um … if it makes it to the intended recipient … (lucky her service is quick, so you don’t have yummy gifts sitting around saying “eat me, eat me” for months …)
The 5th Day of Christmas – La Toriana
Posted by: | CommentsMy first, personal experience with this awesome boutique when I was sent some gifts from La Toriana after Chippie’s birth.
I love it coz I love stuff for Mums and they have stuff for Mums. Really, really nice stuff.
There’s quite a bit there for Mums To Be, and for the new Mum (gorgeous nappy bags and the like – which, to be quite honest, um, I’m a user of nappy bags for non-baby related stuff, because I am an anal control freak and like lots of compartments and things so everything has it’s place. A nappy bag does this better than just about any other handbag I’ve experienced. Sssshhh. Don’t tell anyone!)
There are also some very nice jarmies and other gorgeous things for Mums – and women who are not Mums
And some very nice things for Dads as well – and Men who are not Dads.
Of course, there is also the baby and kids stuff if you haven’t overindulged them already by this stage and need some more stuff.
Oh, and until the 12th of Deecember, Latoriana are doing:
- Free Post – use code “realmums” for that offer, or
- 15% off storewide - use code “Santa” to get that discount
And there are some other sales and discounts happening this month, with up to 85% off stuff, so if you’ve wanted soemthing from La Toriana, now would probably be a good time to visit.
(Conditions and exclusions may apply to some stuff – it’s all on the website)

The 4th Day of Christmas – Quick Catering for all
Posted by: | CommentsSeems this time of year, we’re suddenly up for loads more socialising … out for dinner, having friends over, heading off to dinner parties.
Argh! All to overwhelming and face-stuffingy and running around like a crazy lady. You’re expected to whip up decadent 3-course meals that are actually 7 courses long, and spend entire weeks preparing meals (in between visitng others, Christmas shopping and heading off to various parties. Or avoiding all the above)
We can’t help much with the entree and main, but we’ve got your dessert covered – and in mere minutes!
Yup, the collection of Real Mums Chocolate MUG cake recipes … 7 MUG cakes in all:
- Chocolate
- Coffee
- Mocha
- Chocolate Mud
- Chocolate Orange
- Muddy Chocolate Mud
- Chocolate Self-saucing
And a couple of creamy and saucy bits to accompany this (literally) 5 minute desserts.
A great pre-Christmas sanity saver, and a great Christmas preset (for, pfftt, a whole $7)
The 3rd Day of Christmas – Get some support for next year
Posted by: | CommentsThis was probably the advertiser on our Real Mums Recommends Directory that we received the most positive feedback about.
Probably because of the support they offer. Boom Boom (oh, dear, pardon the puns)
Bella Forma ~ pretty bras and swimwear for large busted women offer not just bras and swimwear, but also comfort, great service and sleepwear!
As far as Christmas goes … well! Lots of great “mum” type things, like jarmies, but if you’re the kind of woman that likes to purchace nice lingerie for your husband … um, obviously for you to wear, not him … although … look, whatever floats your boat, and what you do in your house is entirely up to you, but whatever … they have some very nice lingerie as well.
Of course, summer is also upon us, the school holidays are nigh and you will be needing some nice, supportive swimwear … so add that to your list, too.
They have the standard brands you know and love that have been around forever, some gorgeous new brands, sports, maternity, and bras for women with really BIG boobs (I just saw a J Cup bra … sigh another site I’ll be stuck on for hours, drooling and taking notes to pass on to Santa …)
Anyway, if you like nice stuff for Christmas, you’ll find it here. If you like practical stuff, you’ll get that here, too. If you’re planning to add “start exercising” to your New Year’s Resolutions list, they have that covered as well. As for sentimental stuff … I dunno, but I’m willing to bet there’ll be something that fits that category as well
Bella Forma … pass it on.
